Sweat was pouring off his brow, as he finished working out at the gym, and I was in my mind, thinking “Eeeuuuww.”
Yet the profound was about to be cast.
A person I knew from my journalism career asked how I was doing, and told me (literally) all about his business.
Those who run their own business know this: there is no getting off that treadmill.
Yet he was happy.
“Consistency is everything,” he said.
“You will succeed at anything if you do it long enough, and often enough.”
His physique was an indicator of what he did with his off time.
But I thought about what he said.
For someone new in business, it might look like this: carry your business with you and always nurture relationship more than the biz aspect.
One will get you the other, you know?
Mary Kay is part of my life. I still remember when my director dropped off a sample to me on a day when I was frazzled and my lipstick tube was empty.
That little bit of color gave me exactly what I needed. She did not “sell” me. What I remember most was her smile.
And she has been successful, like a queen bee.
Bees visit flowers every day.
And are necessary for our environment.
Something to think about. A little here, a little there.
What are your goals, and what are you doing toward them? Perhaps consistency could be your friend as well.
Have a very Happy Wednesday all.
